The Index Catalogue [IC]

The Index Catalogue [IC] has a number of additional objects supplementing the NGC catalogue.  Published in two volumes in 1895 and 1908, most of the objects in the IC catalogue were found through the new medium of photography.  Object IC443 in Star Vistas is the Jellyfish nebula, a very faint supernova remnant in the constellation Gemini, the twins.

The different deep-sky objects you will see in Star Vistas come under three main headings, galaxies, star clusters, and nebulae.
